Cougar Men Fall to Utah in the First Round of the MWC Championships
SAN -- The No. 66-ranked BYU men's tennis team (8-15, 3-2) fell in the opening round of the Mountain West Conference championship in San Diego, Calif., to the men of the University of Utah in a tough 4-3 decision.
BYU jumped to the early lead over the Utes by clinching the doubles point with wins at the Nos. 1 and 3 spots. In singles, the Cougars came out on top at the Nos. 1 and 4 positions with wins from Erik Nyman and Nima Roshan, both dropping their opponents in straight sets, but the other four singles victories belonged to the Utah.
