Lozano and Nyman Eliminated from National Indoor Championships

PROVO -- For only the second time this fall, BYU's Erik Nyman and Carlos Lozano suffered a loss in doubles. The Cougars lost in the quarterfinal round of the Omni Hotels National Indoor Championships in Dallas on Thursday.

Nyman and Lozano were able to advance to the quarterfinals by beating No. 39 Gwinyai Chingoka and Eric Cohn of Southern Methodist University 9-8 (1). In the quarterfinals, Nyman and Lozano were defeated by No. 35 Richard Barker and William Barker of Rice 8-3.

The BYU men's tennis team will travel to Las Vegas Nov. 15-16 to participate in the 2002 Team Regional Tournament. The regional tournament will be the last tournament the Cougars will be participating in before starting their regular season on Jan. 23 against Loyola Marymount.
