BYU Tennis Players Advance to Finals

PROVO, Utah (Oct. 6, 2000) -- In the second day of the BYU Invitational, the Cougars advanced players to the finals one of the singles tournaments and in the doubles tournament. Gert Vilms, a junior from Estonia, defeated Corrie Scheepers of Utah, 6-2, 6-4, to advance to the finals. Vilms will play Guillaume Bouvier, from Boise State, tommorrow at 10 a.m. for the championship. In doubles, Vilms and Carlos Lozano defeated Scheepers and David Mercier of Utah to advance to the finals. Vilms and Lozano will face Bouvier and Mark Roberts of Boise State tommorrow at 3 p.m. for the doubles championship.
