Men's Tennis Completes Road Sweep

PROVO -- The BYU men's tennis team finished a two-match road sweep in Boise as they defeated Drake University on Saturday, 5-2.

The Cougars took the doubles point by winning in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Gert Vilms and Carlos Lozano defeated Stefan Killian and Tim Miller at the No. 1 spot, 8-4.

In singles, BYU won at the No. 1, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 spots. Vilms defeated Miller, 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot. Eric Nyman and Matt Stohl both won at the No. 5 and 6 spots.

"Eric Nyman was very impressive," said BYU coach Jim Osborne. "We played well to get both victories this weekend."

BYU, at 6-4 on the season, has now won six in a row after dropping the first four. The Cougars travel to Palm Springs this weekend to take on College of Desert on Saturday at 4 p.m.
