AUSTIN, Texas – College Sports Communicators (CSC) named Zach Fuchs to the Academic All-District men’s tennis team today for his academic and athletic accomplishments this season. The BYU men’s tennis sophomore appeared in 31 matches this year, including all 22 of the team’s dual matches, while maintaining a 3.7 cumulative GPA across his college career.

Academic All-District honors are the first step in CSC’s Academic All-America program, which seeks to recognize the best student-athletes in the nation. The organization began the program in 1952.

Athletes must have a 3.5 GPA or higher to be selected to an Academic All-District team in addition to being a starter or important reserve during the season. Nominees must also be at least a sophomore and enrolled in their current school for one calendar year. Only those who played in 50 percent or more of a team’s contests are eligible.

Fuchs has career records of 19-15 in singles and 13-17 in doubles. This season he posted a 12-12 record in singles and 9-13 in doubles. The .500 winning clip in singles was the team’s highest in 2022-23.

The Los Altos, California, native is a pre-business major with plans to pursue either finance or global supply chain management. Fuchs appeared in multiple spots in the lineup this year, reaching as high as No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles.
