BYU to Host Saint Mary's Friday

PROVO, Utah — After a loss at UNLV last weekend snapped a three-match win streak, BYU men's tennis looks to bounce back as they continue West Coast Conference play, hosting Saint Mary's at the Indoor Tennis Courts on Friday, March 26, at 12 p.m. MDT. 

BYU Notes (6-5, 1-0 West Coast Conference)

• The Cougars are 6-5, most recently falling to UNLV, 4-3, last weekend
• BYU has wins over Grand Canyon, Weber State, Idaho State, Montana, Santa Clara and Air Force. The Cougars' four losses were at Oregon (twice), to New Mexico at home, at Utah State and at UNLV. 
• The Cougars are led by senior Sean Hill, who earned his 10th singles win last weekend, and has won seven straight singles matches

• The Gaels are 3-8, with their most recent win coming last weekend at Nevada, a 4-1 victory
• Saint Mary's has wins over UC Davis, Sacramento State and Nevada. The Gaels' losses are to Cal, USC, Cal Poly, San Diego, Sacramento State, Fresno State, Nevada and Stanford.
• The Gaels will be on a two-match road trip, stopping in Logan to take on Utah State on Thursday, March 25, at 1 p.m. MDT, before making their way down to Provo for the Friday afternoon matchup with BYU at noon MDT
• Saint Mary's returned their eight of ten players from last season, and welcomed two transfers, a junior and graduate senior this year
• The last meeting between BYU and Saint Mary's was on March 16, 2019, in Provo. The Cougars beat the Gaels, 4-1. BYU leads the all-time series, 8-1, and has won the last six matchups.
