BYU to Host New Mexico Friday

PROVO, Utah — BYU men's tennis (2-2) will be back at home this week, hosting New Mexico on Friday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. MST at the BYU Indoor Tennis Courts.

After starting the season 2-0 with a pair of 6-1 victories over Grand Canyon and Weber State, the Cougars lost matches on back-to-back days at Oregon. In the two matches against the Ducks, doubles pair Sam Tullis and Ben Gajardo earned a doubles win, with Sean Hill and Ben Gajardo each picking up a singles win.

New Mexico will play their first match of the season when they travel to Provo this week. The Lobos finished 5-7 in last year’s COVID-shortened season, ending on a three-match losing streak. New Mexico returns all nine players from last year’s roster.

Attendance at home matches continues to remain limited to family members.
