Four Cougars travel to Tulsa for ITA All-American

PROVO, Utah – Four BYU men’s tennis players set to compete in the ITA All-American tournament in Tulsa, Oklahoma beginning Monday, Oct. 7.

Seniors Sean Hill and Sam Tullis will travel with juniors Matheus Ferreira Leite and Ben Gajardo to represent the Cougars next week.

Hill will participate in the main draw singles while Gajardo, Ferreira Leite and Tullis will have to compete in pre-qualifying singles matches in order to play in the main singles draw.

Ferreira Leite and Hill will make up one doubles pair with Gajardo and Tullis being the second. The two Cougar duos will start their doubles play in the qualifying rounds.

There will be 128 players in the singles qualifying round and 64 teams in the qualifying doubles. In order to advance from the qualifying rounds to the main draw, players must win three rounds.

In the main draw, there will be 64 singles players competing and 32 doubles duos.

The tournament runs through Saturday, Oct. 12.
