Hill, Tullis and Gajardo appear in ITA preseason national rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. – Three BYU men's tennis players enter the upcoming season ranked individually by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The 2019-20 Oracle ITA Division I preseason national rankings were announced Tuesday.

Sean Hill heads into his senior season nationally ranked as No. 55 in singles after finishing the 2018-19 season ranked No. 101. Hill posted a 26-7 overall singles records and a 19-2 dual singles record during his junior season.

Senior Sam Tullis and junior Ben Gajardo earned the No. 42 spot in doubles after a successful season in the No. 2 doubles position last year. The pair put up a 17-0 dual match record and a 23-4 overall record. Tullis and Gajardo made their debut in the polls at No. 84 when the final rankings came out last season.

The Cougars begin fall tournament play on Friday, Sept. 20, at the Wildcat Invitational in Tuscon, Arizona.
