Carrazedo advances to quarterfinals at SoCal Intercollegiates
LOS ANGELES – Senior Aidan Carrazedo advanced to the singles quarterfinal to continue BYU's run at the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships on Friday.
Carrazedo cruised past No. 63 Jake DeVine (USC) with a two-set 6-4, 6-2 victory and picked up a second win over Texas Tech's Carlos DiLaura 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the round of 16. Carrazedo will play UCLA's Max A. Cressy in the quarterfinals.
Sam Tullis beat LMU's Nicholas Borchenko 6-3, 6-1 before falling short to No. 4 seed Thibault Forget (USC) 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-2 in the round of 16.
After receiving a bye in the first round of qualifying doubles, Carrazedo and Tullis defeated Concordia’s Sten Boersma and Manhon Ko 8-2 and advanced to the main draw. The duo will face UC Santa Barbara's Nicolas Moreno de Alboran and Joseph Rotheram in the round of 16.
