Cougars to compete in Dar Walters Fall Classic
PROVO, Utah – Continuing its preseason tournament play, the BYU men’s tennis team will compete in the Dar Walters Fall Classic hosted by Boise State University on Oct. 7-8.
“I’m looking forward to seeing how our team plays,” BYU head coach Brad Pearce said. “This will be a great opportunity to show what we’ve been practicing.”
Nine of the Cougars’ 10 rostered players will be competing. Junior John Pearce will be sitting out due to injury.
More than 90 student-athletes from 15 colleges and universities in the region will participate in the tournament, including upcoming opponents Boise State, Montana State, Utah, Utah State and Weber State.
Matches will be held primarily on Boise State campus at the Appleton Tennis Center, while some will be played at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center and at Julia Davis Park.
The Dar Walters Fall Classic is the second of four scheduled preseason tournaments for BYU. The Cougars will also compete in the USTA/ITA Mountain Region Championships and the So Cal Intercollegiate Championships in October.
