Men's tennis opens fall season on home courts

PROVO, Utah -- Looking to showcase their summer preparation, all 11 Cougars will compete in the Utah Fall Tennis Classic at BYU Sept. 8-10.

Draws for Utah Fall Tennis Classic

Senior Keaton Cullimore is the No. 1 seed in singles with John Pearce and Jeremy Bourgeois at the second and third seeds, respectively. Jacob Sullivan is the No. 4 seed. In the open doubles competition, partners Cullimore and Pearce are the first seed.

There are 22 total competitors entered in the tournament, including other college and junior players from Utah and California. The tournament is unique in that each player enters on his own, pays the appropriate registration fees and competes individually while not representing the university.  

The first round begins Thursday at 2 p.m., and the tournament continues through the finals on Saturday morning. All matches will be played on BYU’s outdoor tennis courts, and the event is free to the public.
