Cullimore, Goryachkov and Monroe receive All-WCC honors
PROVO, Utah – The West Cost Conference today announced BYU men’s tennis players Keaton Cullimore, Andrey Goryachkov and Shane Monroe earned All-Conference honors as voted on by league coaches.
Monroe, a sophomore from Ventnor, New Jersey, was named to the All-WCC Second Team Singles with a 4-3 record in conference play. Monroe went 16-5 on the year, playing mostly at No. 1 singles for BYU.
Goryachkov, a senior from St. Petersburg, Russia, and Cullimore, a junior out of Sandy, Utah, were both named WCC Singles Honorable Mention.
Goryachkov earned a perfect 7-0 record in WCC singles action, playing mostly at third singles and earning a 16-5 overall record for the Cougars. Cullimore earned a 2-3 record in WCC singles action with an overall 13-6 record at first and second singles.
No. 60 BYU begins postseason action in the WCC tournament held in Claremont, California, on Friday at 1 p.m. PDT. The Cougars are the No. 2 seed and will face the winner of No. 61 Pepperdine and No. 69 Loyola Marymount.
