PROVO, Utah - Heading into the final week of the month, the BYU men’s tennis team looks to stay undefeated in January for the first time since 2010 as it faces Northern Arizona University Friday afternoon in Provo.

“We’re taking it one match at a time and trying to do our best to prepare for every match that we play,” BYU head coach Brad Pearce said. “I think the expectation is that we come out prepared and that we do what we’re supposed to do. If we’re prepared for the match, then the results will show for themselves.”

The Cougars are 29-2 in matches played during January and have only dropped two points during 2016 play: the doubles point against Nevada and a singles point against Hawai’i.

NAU has yet to play a match in the 2016 season. The Lumberjacks have a unique roster with no upperclassmen, five sophomores and three freshmen.

The match against NAU begins Friday at 5:30 p.m. MST at the Indoor Tennis Courts. Admission to the match is free and free pizza will be provided for fans.

Live stat updates can be found on the BYU men’s tennis schedule page.
