PROVO, Utah — Three road games in Hawai’i over the holiday weekend are next on the schedule for the BYU men’s tennis team.

The Cougars will play BYU-Hawai’i in Laie on Friday, and then head to Kahuku where they will play Sacramento State on Saturday and the University of Hawai’I on Monday.

“It was great to get a match in with SUU on our home courts, with a standing-room only crowd prior to heading over to Hawai'i,” BYU head coach Brad Pearce said. “We’re looking forward to playing BYU-Hawai'i, Sacramento State and the University of Hawai'i.  It will be a big transition moving from Provo conditions to Honululu conditions in January, but it will be a good challenge for us.  Our goal is to return home with some positive momentum as we take on Weber State and Northern Arizona, both solid teams, the weekend after our return.”

BYU (1-0) goes on the road for the first time this season after defeating Southern Utah at home 7-0 last Friday. All three teams they face have not played a match in the 2016 season.

Freshman JD Malan joined the team at the beginning of 2016 and played in his first match against SUU. He and the Cougars will look to continue with the success they had that match.
