Cullimore into quarterfinals at ITA Regionals
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico -- Keaton Cullimore advanced to the quarterfinal round of the singles bracket Friday afternoon after upsetting the fourth seed, Utah's Parker McGuiness, 6-4, 7-6 at the ITA Regional tournament in Albuquerque.
Cullimore, the 31st seed of the tournment, will be playing Utah's Dan Little Saturday morning to advance to the final. He is the only BYU player remaining in the main singles draw.
On the doubles side, Cullimore and teammate John Pearce lost in the quarterfinals of the main draw Friday morning to Boise State's team of Roskilly and Tenreiro 8-6. There are no teams left in the doubles main draw for the Cougars.
Jeremy Bourgeios and Scott Bohne are in the Round of 16 for the singles consolation draw. They will play for the quarterfinals Saturday afternoon.
In the doubles consolation bracket, Andrey Goryachkov and Shane Monroe are in the quarterfinals along with another BYU team of Jacob Sullivan and Aidan Carrazedo. Both teams will play in the afternoon.
Monroe, Sullivan and Goryachkov also lost in the Round of 16 Friday morning in the main singles draw.
