PROVO, Utah—The BYU men’s tennis team announced their schedule this week for the upcoming 2015-2016 season.

“Overall, I’m looking forward to this season,” BYU head coach Brad Pearce said. “Everyone is working hard and we have a good practice schedule. We have a good, competitive schedule in terms of match play. Hopefully, we’ll see some good fruits.”

“I think we’re further along in our development at this time than in previous seasons,” Pearce said. Hopefully, we can get this team back to where it has been in previous seasons. The goal is to compete for a conference championship and we want to get back to the NCAA tournament.”

The Cougars will play in the Boise State Invitational, the Salt Lake Invitational and the So Cal Intercollegiate in October for their pre-season match-ups. They will begin regular season play in January  in Hawaii against BYU-Hawaii, Sacramento State and the University of Hawai'i.

BYU's home opener is back-to-back games against Weber State and Nevada on January 22 and 23. They will play at home again the following week on the 29th against NAU.

In February, the Cougars head to Colorado to play Air Force on the 5th and Denver on the 6th. They return home for a single matchup against Boise State on the 13th before taking a quick away trip to face in-state rival Utah on the 20th.

The Cougars will then open West Coast Conference play on February 26th against Portland at home, and will play the next day against Gonzaga at home as well.

March for the Cougars opens up on the road at New Mexico in a non-league game on the 5th. They then head home for a conference matchup against LMU on the 18th and a non-conference matchup vs. UNLV on the 19th.

April begins for the Cougars with three away WCC games at San Diego on the 2nd, at Santa Clara on the 8th, finishing off in San Francisco on the 9th. They return home to host their final home conference match of the season on the 15th against Pepperdine. BYU wraps up their regular season against Saint Mary's and Pacific on the 22nd and the 23rd.

The WCC Tournament begins on April 27 and the Cougars will be looking to clinch the conference title and competing in the NCAA postseason.
