Sargeant named to All-WCC Second Team

PROVO, Utah – BYU men's tennis captain Francis Sargeant was named to the All-WCC Second Team in singles Wednesday.

Sargeant is 8-11 on the season and 3-4 in West Coast Conference play. The senior delivered his biggest victory of the season in a matchup with No. 20 Tulsa when he beat No. 37 ranked Or Ram-Harel in straight sets.

This season has seen Sargeant move up to sixth place on BYU’s all-time singles victories list with 91 victories. The second team honor is Sargeant’s second WCC singles recognition as he was named an honorable mention after his sophomore year.

The Cougars are in action today at the WCC Tournament in San Diego against Saint Mary’s. Live scoring and video is available on the men’s schedule page.
