PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s tennis is set to host No. 18 San Diego on Saturday in its final home match of the season and final match of West Coast Conference play.

The Cougars (9-16, 3-5) look to snap their longest losing streak of the season, having lost their last seven matches, against the No. 1 team in the WCC. Senior captain, Francis Sargeant, will be honored Saturday before the match begins as he prepares to play his last home match for BYU after an illustrious career as a Cougar. Sargeant rose to No. 6 on BYU’s all-time singles victory list this season playing primarily at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles.

The Toreros (19-4, 8-0) have already clinched the WCC regular season title for the second consecutive year but will need to beat the Cougars to maintain their perfect conference record. No. 45 Uros Petronijevich and No. 70 Filip Vittek lead San Diego in singles and Vittek joins forces with Jordan Angus to be the No. 42 doubles duo in the nation.

The match begins at 12 p.m. MDT at the BYU outdoor courts. Live stats will be available through the BYU men’s tennis schedule page.
