Cougars host triple-header Friday
PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s tennis hosts Montana State, University of Missouri – Kansas City and Nebraska Omaha Friday, January 30 at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively. All matches will be played in the BYU indoor tennis courts.
“Friday will be a big test of our physical, mental and emotional toughness as a team with three consecutive matches,” BYU head coach Brad Pearce said. “We will see if our guys are up to the challenge.”
Freshman Shane Monroe will look to keep his hot start going as he tries to remain unbeaten during the spring season. Monroe and senior captain Francis Sargeant led the Cougars to a convincing 7-0 victory over Air Force last Saturday.
Montana State will play its first match of the season Friday in Provo, while UMKC and Omaha both have several matches under their belts. UMKC rides a wave of momentum into Provo after two consecutive 7-0 victories over Baker and William Jewell. Omaha bounced back from two early losses to Arkansas to beat Nebraska Wesleyan 7-0.
Admission is free to the matches and pizza is provided for fans in attendance. Live stats and video will also be available through the men’s tennis schedule page.
