PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s tennis announced the signing of Viewmont High School senior Jacob Tullis. Tullis will join his brother, Sam, after they have completed their LDS Church missions. Sam is currently serving a two-year mision in Costa Rica.

“I’m thrilled to have Jake join the BYU tennis family,” BYU head coach Brad Pearce said. “Jake has a terrific all-court game and a great attitude. He’s not afraid of anyone and is a great competitor.”

Tullis has enjoyed a successful high school career thus far and will look to continue that in his senior campaign. He is a two-time state champion and has five national doubles titles to his name. After helping lead Viewmont to a second consecutive state title last season, Tullis enters his senior year with the experience to maintain the tradition.

Tullis plans to follow the lead of his brother and serve a mission before joining Sam on the team.

“It will be great when he joins his brother Sam after they’ve completed their missions,” Pearce said. “I couldn’t be more thrilled they chose us.”
