Recaps: Day 1  Day 2  Day 3

“Ball and Sullivan had a great week by reaching the doubles final,” BYU head coach Brad Pearce said. “They played some big matches and played great tennis.”

In their semifinal match, Ball and Sullivan produced a big win over UC Irvine’s Justin Agbayani and Jonathan Poon 8-7 but fell in the finals to Austin Rapp and Martin Redlicki of UCLA 8-3. The Cougar duo of Andrey Goryachkov and Robin Pfister also enjoyed a successful day in doubles play, winning the consolation draw over UC Santa Barbara’s Tobias Galskov and Ziad Sultan.

In singles play, Sullivan and fellow sophomore Jeremy Bourgeois both turned victories in the main draw consolation bracket. Due to BYU’s policy regarding playing on Sunday, both will withdraw from their matches on Sunday.

“This was a great week for Cougar tennis,” Pearce said. “We got exactly what we came here for so it has been a very productive week of tennis.”
