BYU men’s tennis continues WCC action at home against LMU, No. 49 Pepperdine
PROVO, Utah -- The BYU men’s tennis team returns home for West Coast Conference matches against Loyola Marymount Friday at 1 p.m. MDT and No. 49 Pepperdine Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Outdoor Tennis Courts.
“We’re happy to be back home,” BYU head coach Brad Pearce said. “We’re really going to focus hard on our doubles play; I think that has been letting us down. We hope to have better results and get good production this weekend out of every position. We need to get firing on all cylinders.”
The Cougars (7-10, 1-1 WCC) look to capitalize on two home matches after splitting their first two conference matches on the road last weekend.
The Lions (10-6) improved to 2-1 in WCC play with an 4-0 upset win over previous No. 53 Santa Clara, Monday. BYU is 5-1 against LMU all-time. This weekend the Cougars will be looking for their first win against Pepperdine since joining the WCC. The Waves (10-11) opened up conference play, topping San Francisco 6-1.
Live scoring will be available for both matches on the BYU athletics website.
After this weekend, the Cougars will be on the road for matches against San Francisco and No. 57 Santa Clara, April 4 and 5, respectively.
