Sargeant and Goryachkov's run ends in semifinals

LOS ANGELES--The doubles team of Francis Sargeant and Andrey Goryachkov fell in the semifinals of the 57th Annual Southern California Intercollegiate Championships, Saturday.
 
Sargeant and Goryachkov were ousted in the semifinals of the doubles main draw by UCLA's Mackie McDonald and Karue Sell in a close loss, 8-6.
 
In singles consolation action, Goryachkov retired due to injury in his match against UC Irvine's Caryl Hernandez, 6-4, 4-3.
 
This tournament concludes the fall portion of the 2013-14 tennis season for BYU. 
 
The Cougars commence regular season competition Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, in two home matches against Weber State and Utah State at the Indoor Tennis Courts in Provo.
