TULSA, Okla.--Junior Francis Sargeant played a tough match but lost in three sets, ending his run in the ITA All-American Championships Tuesday.

BYU's Sargeant fell in the second round to No. 60 Mate Zsiga of Baylor 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.

"It was a good match against a player on a top-10 team," BYU assistant coach Daniel Pollock said. "We'll learn from it and get better."

Sargeant lost the first set to Zsiga through some unforced errors. He then came out strong with great timing to dominate the second set. In the third, the set was tied 3-3 as Sargeant went up 40-15 in the seventh and eighth games, but he could not overcome Zsiga who took three straight games to clinch the match.

Sargeant will have a chance to bounce back as he and the Cougars compete in the University of Utah Invitational next Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 10-12.
