PROVO, Utah--Continuing BYU's collection of postseason honors, two men's tennis players were recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association with scholar-athlete status for the 2012-13 school year.

Junior Travis Fillmore and freshman John Pearce earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status during the school year that included BYU's third NCAA tournament appearance in the last four years. It was the first time since 2006 that a BYU player achieved this award.

Pearce collected the academic honor in his first season as a Cougar. The Timpview High product split his playing time between No. 5 and No. 6 singles while also competing at No. 3 doubles with Keaton Cullimore.
