The Intercollegiate Tennis Association recently named BYU head coach Brad Pearce the Mountain Region Coach of the Year. Pearce also won the award in 2010.

Under Pearce’s guidance, the Cougars are undefeated in region play over the last four seasons. This year, BYU defeated No. 45 Boise State, 4-3 on April 6, ending the Broncos’ 28-home match win steak. BYU then completed its perfect run by topping No. 71 Idaho on April 12.

The Cougars also finished the season unbeaten at home, tallying an 11-0 record in 2013. Four of those victories came against ranked opponents. With an overall record of 21-7, BYU earned a 9-5 mark against ranked teams.

In its second year in the West Coast Conference, BYU finished second with a 7-1 record in league play. The team then narrowly lost to No. 8 Pepperdine in the conference tournament.

Peace also garnered the Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year awards in 2010 and 2011.
