PROVO, Utah – After competing at the ITA Kick-off Weekend last weekend in Los Angeles, the No. 48 BYU men’s tennis team travels back to California to face the No. 18 Stanford Cardinal. The Cougars then return home to host Air Force on Saturday at 5:30 p.m., at the Indoor Tennis Courts.

Friday’s match against Stanford will be the fourth consecutive ranked opponent BYU has played. The Cougars are 3-1 this year against ranked teams.

The Cardinal (2-1) were ranked No. 10 last week before falling to No. 26 Texas A&M on Friday. They improved their record with a victory over No. 29 Texas Tech on Saturday.

Stanford boasts a top ranked singles player in No. 39 John Morrissey, as well as the No. 57 doubles team of Jamin Ball and Trey Strobel.

On Friday, Air Force (3-1) will play against Utah before coming down to Provo to face BYU. This year the Falcons have wins over Seattle, Montana and Montana State.

The Cougars have the edge all-time against Air Force at 26-3.

The home match at the Indoor Tennis Courts is free to attend and pizza will be provided.
