PROVO -- The BYU diving team will welcome the University of Utah Saturday to the Richards Building Pool at 11 a.m. for the annual BYU Diving Invitational.

“I expect it to be a good competition,” BYU diving coach Keith Russell said. “It will be an interesting match up because they have some new divers and a female former Mountain West Conference champion.”

The event was originally scheduled to be a two-day event on both Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, but due to the lack of divers, the meet will be combined into one day with both 1-meter and 3-meter events for the men and the women.

The event will start at 11 a.m. and is expected to last about three hours.

Come cheer on your Cougars this Saturday. Admission is free to the event and fans are encouraged to attend. The next home event will be Jan. 7, 2010 when the BYU swim and dive team will welcome TCU to the deck.
