BYU's Savickas Conference Male Swimmer of the Week

PROVO -- For the third time this season and for the second week in a row, BYU junior All-American Arunas Savickas was named the Mountain West Conference Male Swimmer of the Week.

Savickas was on fire at this weekend's annual Speedo Cup in Irvine, Calif. Savickas won both the 100 back and 500 free events, and took second in the 200 back. Savickas also led the 800 free relay team to a first-place finish and the 400 free and medley teams to runner-up finishes.

Savickas currently holds conference-best times in four events and is second in an additional event, the 100 free. His times are also among the best in the nation, with his 200 back time of 1:45.93 the fastest time recorded in the country to date.

Savickas and the BYU men's swim will resume competition following the holiday break.
