Kunkel Named Mountain West Conference Diver of the Week

PROVO -- For the third time this season, diver Rachelle Smith Kunkel was named the female Mountain West Conference diver of the week.

Kunkel, a senior All-American from West Valley City, competed with teammate Anna Tutunnikova last week at the 2000 All-American Diving Invitational in Austin, Texas. Kunkel captured third overall on her speciality, the 1-meter board, with a score of 412.70. Kunkel then finished 16th out of 45 competitors on the 3-meter board.

The All-American Diving Invitational boasted competitors from 18 different schools. She will join the men's and women's swimming and diving teams this weekend in their first dual meets of the new year against Air Force and Wyoming.
