Russell, Patil and Einfeldt Perform Well at USC Invitational

LOS ANGELES -- Sophomore Aaron Russell and junior Viraj Patil both finished in the top-four on the men's 1-meter springboard while Kelli Einfeldt had a top-four finish in the women's 3-meter event on the second day of competition of the USC Diving Invitational Friday.

Russell finished second on the 1-meter board with a score of 298.85 while Omar Ojeda of Arizona, who also won the 3-meter board Thursday, finished first. Patil finished in fourth place with a score of 261.70 while teammate Justin Wilcock's score of 240.30 was good enough for eighth place, but not good enough to make in into the final round of competition, as only the top six advanced.

For the women, Einfeldt finished in fourth place on the 3-meter board with a score of 457.20 while Aubrie Cropper finished in 14th-place with a score of 338.90. Einfeldt was the only women's diver to advance to the final round of competition.

The USC Diving Invitational continues tomorrow with both the men and the women competing on the platform.
