Five BYU Swimmers to Compete in Toyota US Open
PROVO, Utah — After an impressive start to the swim and dive season, BYU sends five swimmers to compete in the 2022 Toyota US Open, beginning Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 9 a.m. EST.
The Toyota US Open is an event which features some of swim's best athletes, such as Katie Ledecky, Summer McIntosh and Bobby Finke among others.
Swimmers Evan VanderSluis, Emerson Edwards, freshman Julia Bartell, Diego Camacho and Abe Barragan will have the opportunity to represent the Cougars in this years events.
Last Time Out
Each of the BYU swimmers competing in this weeks events also competed in the Mizzou Invite last week. Both the men's and women's teams performed well against their competition, as the teams placed second in their respective fields. VanderSluis, Edwards, Bartell, Camacho and Barragan all set new personal bests in a variety of events in last weeks competition. They now look to build on their performances this week among a strong field of competition.
Meet Information
The meet will feature swimmers from a number of Power 5 universities, such as Auburn, LSU, Notre Dame and Tennessee. International swimmers will also compete in the event representing countries like Brazil and Ireland.
The US Open events will span over the course of Wednesday, Nov. 30-Saturday, Dec. 3, with prelims beginning at 9 a.m. EST each day, followed by the final events at 6 p.m. EST. A recap of the swimmers performance can be found on the schedule tab here on byucougars.com following their events.
The events can be streamed live on the USA Swimming website, beginning with the day 1 finals at 6 p.m. EST. The following three days of events will have both the prelims and the finals streamed on USA Swim's website.
