PROVO, Utah — The Cougars finished off a successful two days of swimming and diving Friday morning, defeating the TCU Horned Frogs with a final score of 172-159 for the women and 180-140 for the men.

Day two began with the nineteenth event of the meet, picking up where the teams left off Thursday evening. Both the men and women would place two teams in the top three of the 200-yard medley relay. Kate Hansen, Mackenzie Miller, Rachel Oyler and Halli Williams would bring home the win on the women's side with a time of 1:45.00, while Diego Camacho, Josue Dominguez, Javier Nicolas and Brigham Harrison set a new pool record with a time of 1:28.70.

Regan Geldmacher followed up the strong start by both teams with a time of 5:02.91 in the women 500-yard freestyle. Abe Barragan also went on to win the men's 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:31.61, keeping the Cougars' substantial lead intact.

Freshman Mackenzie Miller turned in another strong performance following yesterday's individual win in the women's 100-yard breaststroke event, winning today's 200-yard breaststroke event with a time of 2:19.65. Katie McBratney-Graves and Abi Furqueron rounded out the top three in the event with times of 2:21.34 and 2:24.78.

The swimmers would wrap up this week's events with both teams competing in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Harrison, Camacho, Luigi Riva, and Nicolas completed the win for the Cougars with a time of 2:59.64, as the women placed second and third in their respective events with times of 3:30.43 and 3:36.32.

Divers Hailey Johnson and Tessa Watkins helped BYU to victory, scoring 250.30 and 245.10 in the women's 1-meter diving event. Mickey Strauss and Chase Hindmarsh also contributed to the dive team's success with scores of 360.50 and 320.30.

"It was an amazing day for diving," BYU coach Tyce Routson said. "Pool records were broken and NCAA zone cut scores were achieved early in the season. I am proud of the work we have put in and where we are with our performances, and we're only in mid-October. TCU will help us raise our level and I look forward to facing them multiple times per season in the Big 12."

BYU's next opponent will be another former Mountain West Conference foe in UNLV on November 5 at 11 a.m. MDT in what will be the last Cougar home meet of the season.
