Strauss Named MSPF Athlete of the Week
PROVO, Utah (Nov. 24, 2020) — BYU sophomore Mickey Strauss was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Athlete of the Week today for his efforts in the Mizzou Invitational last week.
Strauss earned his NCAA zone cut and advanced to the finals in all three diving events. He finished fourth in the 1-meter (308.85) and fifth in both the 3-meter (339.75) and the platform (276.95).
Strauss, from Provo, Utah, was named the 2019-2020 MPSF Diver of the Year. He was also named to the All-MPSF first team in the 1-meter, 3-meter and the platform event, and broke BYU's all-time best record in the platform event (381.30). This is Strauss' first MPSF Athlete of the Week award.
