Men to Face Colorado Mesa, Women Dixie State Saturday
PROVO, Utah – BYU swim and dive will welcome opponents to the Richards Building Pool for the first time this season when Colorado Mesa and Dixie State come to Provo to compete at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The Cougar men will go against Colorado Mesa while the Cougar women will face off against Dixie State.
BYU is coming off a solid performance to kick off the season last week against Cal Poly in a virtual meet. Brad Prolo broke a six-year-old program record in the 200 fly while Josue Dominguez broke his own 100 breaststroke pool record. On the women's side, Gwen Gustafson, Katie McBratney and Brynn Sproul each won a pair of races against the Mustangs.
The meet will be the first this fall season for the Colorado Mesa men, the defending Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champions. The Cougars defeated the Mavericks twice last season.
Dixie State's women will become the first Trailblazer program to officially begin its NCAA Division I competition era when they come to Provo. Dixie State is led by Tamber McAllister, a former BYU swimmer and assistant coach.
