PROVO, Utah – The BYU dive team heads to Federal Way, Washington, to compete in the 2020 NCAA Zone E Diving Championships from March 9-11 at the Kings County Aquatic Center.

“We had an outstanding conference as a team and many personal-best performances,” BYU head dive coach Tyce Rouston said. “These athletes can carry those experiences and confidence into this qualifier tournament and have great chances to move forward.”

The three-day diving tournament will determine which divers will compete at the NCAA Championships. For the second season in a row, all Cougar men and women have qualified in at least one regular-season or conference event to land a spot at zones.

The Cougars will compete against 32 other diving programs in the country. For each event, the top 18 finishers from the preliminary round will advance to the finals. The top five females and top four males from each event will be eligible to compete at the NCAA Championships. The list of the selected NCAA diving participants will be posted on the NCAA website no later than March 15.

The tournament begins on Monday with the women’s 1-meter prelims at 11:30 a.m. PST and finals following at 3:10 p.m. PST. The men’s 3-meter prelims will also begin at 11:30 a.m. PST with their finals following at 1:20 p.m. PST. The women’s 3-meter and men’s 1-meter will occur at the same times the following day. On the final day, the women’s platform will start at 11:00 a.m. PST and the men’s will begin at 3:35 p.m. PST.

Results will be available on divemeets.com.
