PROVO, Utah – The BYU swim and dive teams will officially kick off the season in Salt Lake City on Friday, Sept. 20, to compete in the Utah/BYU Relays at 5 p.m. MDT at Ute Natatorium.

“This is an exciting meet because it’s fun for both teams,” BYU head coach John Brooks said. “I’m looking forward to some great relays from both the swimmers and divers.”

This meet is not scored but gives the athletes a chance to showcase their abilities without pressure. There will be several different types of relays, including freestyle and co-ed. The divers will even show the fans their skills off the board and in the lanes for a relay of their own.

The Cougars will meet the Utes again later in the season to face each other in a scored matchup. The divers will compete first on Jan. 31 while the swimmers will compete on Feb. 1. Both meets will be held in Provo at the Richards Building Pool.
