Sorenson Represents BYU at NCAA Championships

AUSTIN, Texas - BYU senior Payton Sorenson represented the Cougars well at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships this weekend. 

Sorenson finished his career as a Cougar by finishing 20th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 19.28 before clocking a time of 42.88 in the 100-yard freestyle to place 31st. 

“Payton is an outstanding swimmer, one the top swimmers in the country," BYU head coach John Brooks said. "Making it to NCAAs is a great accomplishment and I’m very proud of him.”

A school record holder in multiple events, Sorenson competed at three NCAA Championships in his career, including earning All-America Second Team honors in the 50 free in 2016.
