PROVO, Utah– Nathan Rogers, a sophomore from Evans, Georgia, was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and Turbo Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.

“Nathan has been working consistently hard this season,” said BYU head coach John Brooks. “It is nice to see that his efforts are paying off.”

In his most recent performance, Rogers took his first two wins of the season in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:06.79) and 400-yard individual medley (4:06.63) in a dual against the UNLV on Nov. 5. In the same meet, he also took a third place finish in the 200-yard butterfly, posting a time of 1:52.20.

Before coming to BYU, Rogers swam under coach Andy Pym for the Aiken-Augusta Swim League. He was recruited by several schools and universities, including Cincinnati, Florida Atlantic, University of Connecticut, and George Mason before choosing to join the swim and dive team at BYU.

In earning his first career MPSF honor, Rogers joins teammates Preston Jenkins and Lauren Shaw Taylor in earning BYU’s third MPSF weekly award this season.
