PROVO, Utah – BYU divers will travel this week to compete in the Air Force Diving Invitational on Feb. 5-6 at the USAFA Cadet Natatorium in Colorado Spring, Colo.

“This is a great meet to attend, and the competition we face here will be the divers we face again during our NCAA Qualifying Meet in March,” BYU head diving coach Tyce Routson said. “This will be the most competition our men’s team has had all year and I am looking forward to seeing our team fulfill its potential. It will also be the first platform event we have competed in all season, so I expect a lot of great diving.”

The Cougars will be competing against divers from Air Force, Utah, Boise State, Texas A&M, Wyoming, Northern Colorado, Colorado State, New Mexico, Denver, UNLV and San Diego State.

In the team’s last meet against Utah, Kevin Dreesen earned a second-place finish in the 3-meter dive with a 394.80. Ali Tippetts-Kottcamp also dove to second place in the 3-meter event, posting a 292.60. Dreesen has posted six wins this season, including four first-place dives in the 3-meter event. Tippetts-Kottcamp has also earned three first-place finishes on the season.

The invitational will start at 9 a.m. MST on Friday and Saturday. Results will be posted following each day’s events on the men’s and women’s schedule pages.
