Jake Taylor wins national and conference swimming honors
PROVO, Utah– Jake Taylor won national and conference honors after leading BYU to a victory at the Pacific Invitational last Friday and Saturday.
The senior All-American was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation/Turbo Athlete of the Week and CollegeSwimming.com Division I National Swimmer-of-the-Week.
Taylor recorded a first-place finish in four different events, including the 100 back (48.81), 200 back (1:49.10), 200 individual medley (1:42.13) and 100 freestyle (45.56). He also contributed to two BYU wins in the 200 medley and 200 free relays. Taylor led off the 200 medley relay with a 22.58 and with a quick five minute turnaround was able to take the win in the 100 back event. He also helped BYU win the 200 medley relay, leading off with a 22.58. This is Taylor’s fourth selection as MPSF/Turbo Athlete of the Week.
