Men up to No. 20 in rankings, Women move to No. 37
PROVO, Utah – The BYU men’s swim and dive team moved to No. 20 in the CollegeSwimming.com Division I rankings after a strong weekend performance at the Colorado Mesa Invite. The women’s team also made this week's ranking at No. 37.
Total team scores for rankings are calculated from each squad's 27 best swims and relay finishes. Coming off its first official meet of the season, the men’s team has accumulated 686.62 points, good enough to put them at the No. 20 spot in the rankings. Rainer Ng had a stellar performance at the Colorado Mesa Invite, setting a pool record in the 200-yard butterfly.
The women’s team posted a score of 650.28, moving it to No. 37 in the national rankings after a standout performance from freshman Kelly Hatanaka, who took first in the 400 individual medley and 500 freestyle.
