Stephen Richards and Ciera Marsh Keller named Athlete's of the Week
PROVO, Utah -- Junior Stephen Richards and senior Ciera Marsh Keller were each named the Male and Female Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Athlete of the Week for their performances against the University of Utah.
"Stephen has had an amazing year and has worked very hard," head coach John Brooks said. "He has earned this honor. Ciera has done a great job at every meet and it is nice to be able to recognize her for her efforts."
Richards, from McLean, Virginia, won the 100-yard breaststroke in 56.83, the 200-yard breast in a time of 2:02.94 and also finished second in the 200-yard individual medley, turning in a time of 1:52.73. The award is Richard's first of the season and second of his career.
This is the first time in Keller's career that she's won the MPSF/TURBO Female Athlete of the Week award. The South Jordan, Utah, native led off for the winning 400-freestyle relay team that ended with a time of 53.70. Keller finished third in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke with times of 57.83 and 2:06.08.
