PROVO, Utah -- Sophomore Haley Bertoldo and freshman Luis Ventura were each named the female and male Mountain Pacific Sports Federation/TURBO Athlete of the Week, respectively.

Bertoldo finished third in the women's 100-yard backstroke (58.15) against Arizona State and also recorded times of 57.79 in the 100-yard butterfly and 2:08.71 in the 200 back.

"Haley worked super hard all summer long and she is a great competitor for us," head coach John Brooks said. "I'm very proud of the work she's put in and she's seeing the results."

Ventura won the men's 500-yard freestyle down in Tempe, Arizona, against the Sun Devils - recording a time of 4:35.64. He also placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:31.50) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:04.08).

"Luis had some very tough races at ASU and he's been a great competitor for us since he's been here," Brooks said. "He's come in as a true freshman and has been great all season."

This is each swimmer's first MPSF/Turbo Athlete of the Week award.
