Taylor wins third MPSF weekly award
PROVO, Utah – Junior Jake Taylor won his third Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Male Athlete of the Week award for his performance at the Texas Invite Dec. 4-6.
Taylor set new BYU records in the 100-yard backstroke (45.95) and 200 back (1:40.51). His 100 back time was the fastest in the nation at the time of the event and is still the third fastest time in the country this season. His 200 back time qualifies him for the NCAA championships with an ‘A’ cut. Taylor also finished third in the 200-yard individual medley at the Texas Invite with a time of (1:45.76).
Taylor previously won the award for the weeks of Oct. 8 and Nov.12. His three weekly awards are a conference high.
