Cougars travel to Colorado to start season
PROVO, Utah – The BYU men’s and women’s swim and dive teams will be in Grand Junction, Colorado, Oct. 3-4, competing in the Intermountain Shootout hosted by Colorado Mesa University.
“It’s our first real competition of the year and we are looking forward to see how everyone races and performs,” head coach John Brooks said. “We swam well here last year and we are looking forward to another good meet.”
The meet will be the Cougar’s first official meet of the season and other teams set to compete are Air Force, Metro State, Colorado Mesa and the University of Utah.
The Cougars are looking to repeat the success they had in the shootout last season where both the men’s and women’s team won the event while also winning dual meets against Colorado Mesa, Air Force and Colorado State.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. MDT on Friday and will continue all day on Saturday at the El Pomar Natatorium in Grand Junction, Colorado.
