CSCAA post-season meet opportunity for BYU swimming
PROVO, Utah – Competing in the final meet on the 2013-2014 schedule, the BYU swimming team will participate in the CSCAA Invitational beginning this weekend in Rockwall, Texas.
Similarly to college sports like basketball and football that provide post-season showcases for athletes, collegiate swimmers are now provided an “NIT equivalent” post-season meet.
The meet will be held from March 23-25, between the men’s and women’s NCAA Championships. The NCAA “B” cut now provides collegiate swimmers an extra opportunity for exposure, rather than ending their season after barely missing an invite.
The CSCAA “A” cut is the NCAA “B” cut equivalent. CSCAA Invitational “A” times include the same Division I NCAA Championship standards and “B” times for the CSCAA will be 5 percent higher than “A” standards. Each swimmer must have an “A” cut but can swim any event they have a “B” cut in.
The Cougars compete on both Monday and Tuesday at the Rockwall ISD Natatorium. Live results are available here, while post-meet results will be available on the men’s home page following the meet.
