PROVO, Utah – Tradition is kept alive for BYU swimming and diving as they host their annual alumni meet followed by their first annual BYU Alumni Dinner beginning Friday, Sept. 20 at 5 p.m. MDT at the Richards Building Pool.
“It’s a great experience to have alumni come back and share their stories and their experiences. We welcome all alumni to come,” head coach John Brooks said. “It’s the first chance of the season for our swimmers to get out there and race. For some of them, it’s been two years after serving their missions so it will be exciting to see what they can do.”
The meet is an opportunity for the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams to compete for the first time of the 2013-2014 year against former alumni.
Following the meet, a new tradition will be started with the addition of an alumni dinner. Information about the future of BYU swim and dive will be given to those who attend. All alumni and their families are invited to the dinner and should RSVP through the BYU Swimming and Diving Alumni page on Facebook.
Results will be posted after the meet on the BYU men’s and women’s swimming schedule page.
The dinner will begin at 7 p.m. MDT after the alumni meet on the top floor of Legends Grill in the Student Athlete Building.
