Cross Country Athletes Receive Academic All-MWC Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS -- BYU cross country teams had 29 student-athletes earn recognition in the classroom while being named to the 2010 fall Academic All-Mountain West Conference team team this week.

Ten harriers of the men’s team and 19 female athletes were honored with their academic contributions. The cross country teams join football, women’s soccer, and women's volleyball in the fall sports able to receive the award. BYU led the conference with 78 student-athletes nominated to the 386 total from the nine MWC schools.

To be eligible for selection, student- athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
